This is the first Animals Today show which came out of KNEWS Radio in Palm Springs, CA.
Lori begins with a discussion about pet overpopulation with Professor Henry Mark Holzer, Chairman of International Society for Animals Rights. Holzer is recognized as the first animal rights attorney. Lori then takes listener calls and asks the Obamas to rescue a dog instead of buying one. Lori concludes the first hour by recognizing the Pet Pal of the week, Arlene Joffe!
Lori continues hour 2 with a cute joke about a talking parrot, and then Dr. Richard Dolbeer, an expert in reducing the risks that wildlife pose to aviation. Lori continues with the controversial practice of local golf courses killing coots (the water bird) by shooting them. The show concludes with a few pet behavior questions with animals behavior authority Dr. Peter Borchelt.
Also included are a few PSAs and two commercials for Focus on You, Lori and Peter’s Ophthalmology practice!
Note: We learned that Dr. Borchelt passed away in 2022. Lori enjoyed their many conversations on Animals Today and he certainly added to the shows!
