This week’s show began with a mini-rant about the missed opportunity by the Obamas to adopt a dog from a shelter. What an impact that
could have had! Instead, Bo came from a breeder via the Kennedys. We are on that topic because the second guest in the hour was Presidential Dog expert, Kate Kelly. As an historian, author and blogger, Kate has taken a special interest in the Presidents and their pets, and shared some fascinating stories with us. Visit her site, America Comes Alive.
Colleen and friend
The first guest was Colleen Maloney-Hinds, whom we met at Catalina, California, as she was aiding a distressed pelican. Well, it turns out that Colleen and her husband have a pig as a companion animal, and she rescues pigs, too. We learned all about life with Piggy Piggy and what rescuers of pigs actually do. Colleen works with two groups, SCAMPP, the Southern California Association for Miniature Potbellied Pigs and Forgotten Angles Rescue.
