This show featured Jeffrey Cohan, Executive Director of Jewish Vegetarians of North America (JVNA). Led by a strong movement in Israel, but rapidly expanding in Europe and North America, a growing number of Jewish people and leaders are embracing vegetarianism, veganism, and animal advocacy in general. Cohan explained why this is occurring, how plant-based diets are consistent with traditional and modern Jewish beliefs, how JVNA operates, and more.
Then, Joe Meile, President of Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting joined Lori to discuss the practice of holding auctions for the right to hunt endangered or rare species. Joe explained that these auctions net serious money that gets funneled back to hunting activities, which are now labeled as “conservation.”
