On this show, Peter welcomed Sonja Fordham, President of Shark Advocates International to discuss threats to shark and ray populations. They talked about the still all too prevalent practice of finning, the fascinating and endangered sawfish, hunting contests aimed at cownose rays, and other topics concerning populations of sharks, rays and skates. The hour concluded with an impassioned message by Lori about preparing for natural disasters. It was originally broadcast shortly after Katrina, but the lessons still hold. Happy 4th and as always, keep everyone indoors and safe tonight!
