This show begins with Peter speaking with Professor Marsha Green, Founder of the Ocean Mammal Institute. In a landmark agreement, the US Navy has just agreed to modify their training activities involving sonar and loud explosives, which non only disrupt the behavior of whales and dolphins, but can and do injure and kill them. Green initiated the lawsuit that led to the agreement by informing Earthjustice and persuading them to take on this issue. It is a great victory!
Then, inventor Paul Propst, owner of Jordy Canid, meets up with Lori to describe his devices worn by visually impaired dogs and horses that allows them to navigate their environment better.
The show’s next guest is Bob Ferber who discusses the important legal ruling in Phoenix upholding the new ordinance which bans the sale of commercially bred animals in pet stores.
And, to wrap up, Lori is joined by Josie Gavieres who leads the group BARK (Beach Animals Reading with Kids). Josie explains the powerful gains in reading kids enjoy when they learn to read aloud in the presence of dogs!
