This show begins with Lori welcoming Ellen O’Neill-Stephens, founder of Courthouse Dogs Foundation. A growing number of court proceedings now have specially trained dogs present to provide emotional support to the human participants. Lori and Ellen discuss where the dogs come from, how they are used in court, and how they may help promote justice.
In recognition of World Rabies Day, Veterinarian Robert Reed then joins Lori to discuss how to prevent this terrible disease in people and animals.
Then, Peter is joined by Michele Colopy, Program Director of Pollinator Stewardship Council, Inc. They discuss the importance of bees and other pollinators for our food supply, and the recent court ruling rejecting the EPA’s approval of the insecticide “sulfoxaflor.”
The show concludes with The Salamander Man, Matt Ellerbeck, telling us how we can help protect Eastern Tiger Salamanders from losing their habitat in Wisconsin, Dr. Colleen Hinds and the Herbivore Festival in Yucaipa, CA, and saving a juvenile Indian elephant.
