The show begins with Meera Gajjar, an attorney with the Wildlife Whistleblower Program of the National Whistleblower Center.
Legal action to counter illegal wildlife trafficking continues to be weak, despite strong laws that are in place. With the Wildlife Whistleblower Program, Gajjar and colleagues expect to change that by providing a clearinghouse of information and resources for potential whistleblowers when they observe or learn of illegal activity.
Large cash rewards from the government are available to whistleblowers, but one must take the correct steps to be successful. A network of attorneys with specialized knowledge and skill in whistleblowing cases is being developed.
Then, Peter and Lori talk about enduring the extreme desert heat with pets, a challenge made much worse when power goes out. Lori then offers many novel tips to keep dogs more comfortable when the temperatures rise. Plus, yippee! One of our dogs has proven to be a very good and enthusiastic swimmer. We wrap up with ideas to get your pets through the assault of Independence Day fireworks. It’s one of our least favorite days of the year.
