On this show, Peter interviewed Steve Holmer to get updated on issues facing birds in the wild throughout the Americas. Steve is Senior Policy Advisor and Director of the Bird Conservation Alliance, American Bird Conservancy. They discussed which species are threatened, which birds are doing well, and what the important dangers to birds are. Recent research is now out on how billions of birds in the wild meet their demise every year, and Steve reviewed these for us. Lori and Peter then discussed what to do if you encounter an injured bird as well as how to tell if the bird really needs your assistance.
Plus, L.A. has banned the use of elephant bull hooks! How will the circuses react? Also, other hot animal new items.
Visit the American Bird Conservancy here. We still are enjoying their wonderful , The American Bird Conservancy Guide to Bird Conservation.

Transferring and transporting an injured bird to Bird Rescue usually depends on the efforts of volunteers and the transferring organizations. The journey sometimes takes a great deal of effort and is often time sensitive.
