On this show, Lori welcomed Lisa Kemmerer, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religions, Montana State University, Billings. In Lisa’s book, Animals and World Religions, she shows “…how spiritual writings and teachings in seven major religious traditions can help people to consider their ethical obligations toward other creatures.” Kemmerer appeals to the faithful to show the compassion to all beings that is part of their religious beliefs. Lisa also shared her experiences of being an animal advocate in cattle country. Then, Peter and Lori discussed the hunting of a black rhino in Namibia in the name of conservation. The winner of the auction for the permit to kill the rhino has complained that he has received threats. Plus, a round-up of the week’s animal news.
