The show begins with our rescue of an injured hawk, and many practical tips on how to aid birds who may be in need of assistance. The first key is to learn which birds need to be left alone. Then, to commemorate Adopt a Rescue Bird Month, Peter describes the ideal ways to acquire a pet bird. Then, Peter tells us about the construction of a huge fence in Hawaii to protect a rare bird species from feral cats. In the second segment, we continue the bird theme, talking about helping birds around your home, including how to prevent them from flying into your windows, how to treat them if they do indeed slam into them, and how to make your garden more attractive for birds. Then Peter tells us about Elephant Sanctuary Brazil, a fast growing park deep in the heart of the country, which is receiving elephants given up by failing zoos. We continue with Dr. Christopher Sakezles, Founder and CEO of Syndaver Labs, which develops and manufactures realistic cadaver models of both humans and dogs for training and education. Lori then follows up with Teddy Farias, Dean of Health Sciences Wichita Area Technical College and Amada Hackerott, Vet Tech Program Director who are looking forward to receiving their first dog model for their vet tech training program. These models reduce the need for using both live animals and animal cadavers. The show wraps up with Cats Cradle sanctuary a wonderful rescue facility for senior cats, led by Bruce and Terry Jenkins.
